Lawn care in Pasadena and nearby

Mowing, edging and regular maintenance to keep your lawn even, healthy and tidy through the year, so your weekends stay yours.

A neatly mowed and edged front lawn with a clean path

What is included

  • Mowing at a steady schedule, weekly or every other week
  • Edging along walks, driveways and beds
  • Trimming around trees, fences and borders
  • Blowing clippings off paths and driveways
  • Notes back to you if we spot bare patches, weeds or sprinkler trouble

Lawns in Southern California grow at different speeds through the year. Warm months usually call for more frequent mowing, and slower months can stretch the interval. We adjust the schedule with you instead of locking you into one pattern.

How it works

  1. Tell us about the yard

Call or send a request with your address and what you need. We look at the lawn and agree on a schedule.

  2. We start the routine

The same crew comes back on the agreed day, so your lawn is cut and edged the same careful way each visit.

  3. We keep you posted

If something needs attention, like dry spots or a leaking sprinkler, we let you know rather than leave it.

Questions

How often should a lawn be mowed in Southern California?

Most lawns do well with a mow every week during the growing season, and less often in cooler or drier stretches. We recommend a schedule after seeing your lawn.

Do you edge as well as mow?

Yes. Edging along walks, driveways and beds is part of regular lawn care, and it is what makes a lawn look finished.

Can you take over from my current mowing service?

Yes. Tell us what you have now and what you would like different, and we can start with a first visit.

How short should you mow a lawn?

It depends on the grass. Bermuda and similar grasses are kept around 1 to 2 inches, and tall fescue and St. Augustine around 2.5 to 3.5 inches. Never remove more than about a third of the blade at once.

Should lawn clippings be bagged?

Usually not. Short clippings break down and feed the soil. We bag them when the grass is very long, wet or weedy.

What affects your lawn plan

Lawns in Southern California do not all behave the same. The grass type, how much shade the lawn gets, the slope and how it is watered all change how often it needs attention.

  • Growth is fastest in warm months, so mowing is usually more frequent then
  • Shady and sunny patches of the same lawn can need different care
  • Dull mower blades tear grass rather than cut it, so sharp blades matter
  • Edges along beds and paths are what make a lawn look kept
